Prof. Uechi holds a PhD and MA from Indiana University and a MA and BA from Doshisha Women's University.

Adjunct Assistant Professor
Prof. Ueji received his B.S. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland University College, an M.S. in Public Policy and Management from the University of London School of African and Oriental Studies, and the Master of Strategic Affairs from Australian National University. From this subject of interest he has become a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (London). In 2011 he joined UMUC Asia and taught Japanese Language courses in Atsugi and Yokosuka. Since 2013, he has been assigned a Government and Politics course. Currently he works full-time in the Japan Liaison Office, the Commander U.S. Naval Forces Japan.
