Dr. Michael K. Lima holds a B.S. degree in aviation administration from State University of New York (SUNY) at Farmingdale, an M.B.A. degree in human resources from Baker College, Michigan, and a Doctor of Business Management (D.B.A.) degree from the Center for Graduate Studies, Baker College, Michigan. His doctoral dissertation titled "Effective transfer of military training to the civilian workforce of enlisted personnel” emphasized applied research in business administration.

In 2019, Dr. Lima joined the UMUC Asia division in Okinawa, teaching in the MBA program. He has previously taught undergraduate courses in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, and Leaders. He currently serves in the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer with 21 years of service.

Chris Mahoney has taught courses in English (developmental English, ESL, English and American literature, professional writing [technical writing, business writing, and writing for managers], and writing courses for graduate students), German, Spanish, speech, and philosophy for UMUC Adelphi (stateside), UMUC Europe, and UMUC Asia. He completed a master’s degree in German, a master’s degree in applied linguistics, a master’s degree in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in comparative literature; in addition, he has completed graduate coursework in management, distance education, philosophy, Pāli, and Chinese Buddhism. The locations where he taught include Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, Macedonia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Bahrain, Japan, Korea, and Singapore.

Michael Paulovich

Dr. Michael Paulovich holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Walden University, an M.A. in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College, an MBA and M.A. in management from Webster University, and an AB in economics from Harvard University.  He is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP). 

Dr. Paulovich is a retired Marine Corps Officer, worked for Battelle Memorial Institute as a Senior Research Scientist, and for the Department of Defense as a civilian employee.  He was an Economics Instructor at the US Naval Academy, and on a subsequent assignment as the Director of the Division for Humanities and Social Sciences which included the Departments of Economics, History, English, Political Science, and Language Studies.

Professor Christian (C.J.) Pawlicki holds an MBA and a B.S. in Management Studies, from UMUC. His core competencies include: leadership, project management, business processes and operations management, data analytics, strategic vision and business development, finance, and marketing. Professor Pawlicki’s professional career spans over twenty-eight years with experience in both the public and private sectors. He served on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps for twenty years (retired in 2012); during that time, he was stationed in mainland Japan, North Carolina, Okinawa, Mississippi, California, and multiple worldwide deployments. In 2006, C.J. launched a start-up venture, co-founding a highly successful stock market timing service, and serving as COO until selling the firm in 2012. After retiring from the Marine Corps, C.J. joined the federal civil service, where he worked for five years as a program manager for III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan. He resigned from the government in 2017, and now works as a logistics consultant with several DoD clients. Additionally, he is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities in the Pacific for his firm. Prof. Pawlicki joined the UMGC Asia team in 2019 as an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the MBA Program.

Professor Mark Rendon holds a JD in intenrational business transactions from the University of Utah and a BS in business in international business from the University of Colorado.

Dr. Mike Shin holds a Ph.D. in international business and marketing from Georgia State University and a BA in political science from Seoul National University. He was born and raised in South Korea and has worked for the Korean government as well as private institutions up until he went on to pursue his doctorate. Dr. Shin is well versed in teaching Global Business Management, Strategic Management and International Marketing. For the past 8 years he has been teaching MBA courses with UMUC stateside.
